Module 4: Determine Desired Outcome

Before engaging in conflict resolution, clarify what you hope to achieve and how you would like to feel after the conversation.

1. Define Your Goals: Identify the desired outcome of the conflict resolution process. Do you want to reach a compromise, clarify misunderstandings, or repair the relationship? How do you want to feel?

2. Visualize Success: Imagine how you would like to feel once the conflict is resolved. Visualizing a positive outcome can help motivate you during the process.

3. Set Realistic Expectations: Understand that conflict resolution may not always lead to a perfect solution. Be open to compromise and finding common ground.

Example Script: "I want us to be able to communicate openly and respectfully so that we can find a solution that works for both of us. I hope that we can move forward with a better understanding of each other's perspectives."

Practice: I want us to be able to ____________________. So that we can ____________________.
